Another week with me :) For this week, yes still with the technology and those Internet term. And for this post i would like to share about CMC. What......it.......is.....? Okay let me explain. CMC is stands for Computer Mediated Communication. It is about when any human interaction occurs through two or more eletronic devices. CMC also use in education started in the late 80s. It became more widesppread with the use of email and forums. CMC are divided into two types which is asynchronous and synchronous.

• asynchronous means that communication is not synchronised.  The messages are not exchanged and replied to immediately. Example of asynchronous CMC are e-mails, most of social media, blogs

• synchronous means communication between participants is synchronised. Those messages can be exchanged and replied immediately. It's also allows for direct communication. Example of synchronous CMC are internet chat rooms, video/audio conferencing.

CMC also required for long distance learning. The synchronous communications allow the teacher and learner to interact without being at the same location. So the student and teacher no need to come to class. Both of them just need to be online on the same time and they can learn like at the classes. This e-lectures are becoming more popular in some country. Then our Malaysia should have too. 

When come to technology of course it have advantages and disadvantages. Yeah same goes to CMC. With CMC there's no distance barrier for the user. They can be anywhere as long as they have Internet connection. CMC also makes collaborations much easier. But, CMC will make a lack of real human contact. People only contact by using words or maybe video but there's no face to face or real conctact. As CMC is using Internet, it could be problems with access to technology.
